چکیده
Abstract The processability of medium Mn-containing steels (MMnS) with 4–10% Mn is discussed in light their continuous casting behavior. Precipitation, phase transformation, extension, or shift solidification intervals induced by various alloying concepts are decisive controlling the hot ductility. It turns out that formation complex AlN and MnS precipitates as well ??ferrite deteriorates high temperature concept MMnS has been used to develop air-hardening forging 4% Mn. alloy design heat treatment parameters have varied a focus on prevention embrittlement fine austenite grains during intercritical annealing. shown addition B Mo increases impact toughness, although effectiveness each element varies depending conditions. toughness can be significantly improved introduction globular metastable austenitic phase. Compared conventional quenched+tempered steels, an cyclic strength for ultimate tensile level more than 1300 MPa achieved.

Forging is a manufacturing process that consists of shaping the metal using localized compression forces. The blows are delivered with a hammer (often an electric hammer) or a die. In this paper, different methods of forging (multi-directional forging, hot forging, near-beta forging, multi-axial forging, direct powder forging, warm forging and ring forging) are discussed. The main problems that...
متن کاملEffect of Alloying Elements and Hot Forging/Rolling Reduction Ratio on Hardness and Impact Toughness of Heat Treated Low Alloy Steels
The present study was carried out to investigate the effect of alloying elements and thermo-mechanical treatment (TMT) i.e. hot rolling and forging with different reduction ratios on the hardness (HV) and impact toughness (J) of heat-treated low alloy steels. An understanding of the combined effect of TMT and alloying elements and by measuring hardness, impact toughness, resulting from differen...
متن کاملNiobium Alloyed High Strength Steels for Automotive Applications
Modern vehicle bodies make intensive use of high strength steel grades to meet the contradicting demand of lighter weight and simultaneously better mechanical performance. For many steel grades microalloying by niobium is the key to achieve their characteristic property profile. In HSLA steels niobium enhances the strength primarily by grain refinement. In interstitial free high strength steels...
متن کاملAustenitic Manganese Steels – Developments for Heavy Haul Rail Transportation
In 1882, Sir Thomas Hadfield patented an alloy with quite remarkable properties. Its composition was Fe-1.3%C-13%Mn and it was the toughest alloy known! The claim has stuck for the century since then and the alloy is now used universally for the “frog” in railway crossings in countries such as Canada where heavy loads are moved by rail using high axle loading. In fact, the alloy is very soft wh...
